Upon receipt of your product, we encourage you to thoroughly inspect it, promptly register it, and familiarize yourself with the applicable warranty coverage outlined below. Product Registration
To ensure maximum warranty coverage, Explore Scientific requires prompt product registration.
You may register your product by either:

Most Explore Scientific telescopes, microscopes, binoculars, riflescopes, eyepieces, and other major components include a serial number. Please use this serial number when registering your product.
If your product does not include a serial number, register using the product item number followed by the date of purchase in six-digit format (MMDDYY).
Example: January 1, 2018 = 010118.
Return Authorization (RMA)
When you purchase an Explore Scientific product, you'll find a serial number on most telescopes, eyepieces, and major components. Please use the serial number to register your product.
Once your product is registered, simply visit our returns portal and enter:
- The reason for return
- The product serial number
This will automatically generate your Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
You may then drop off and pick up your product locally (if applicable) or ship it to us using round-trip shipping.
RMA Number Required
All returns require:
- Registration of the product under the current owner
- A valid RMA number
Each returned product must include:
- The RMA number clearly marked on the package
- A written description of the issue or defect
- Your name
- Return shipping address
- Phone number(s) where you or the carrier can reach you

Shipping Responsibilities
If more than 30 days have passed since the date of purchase, the customer is responsible for shipping costs to return the product to our facility.
We strongly recommend using a shipping carrier that provides tracking and insuring the shipment for its full value. Explore Scientific is not responsible for products lost or damaged in transit if tracking or insurance is not used.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, customers are responsible for shipping and insurance costs to and from Explore Scientific.
Anytime Free Service
Explore Scientific offers free service for adjustments, cleaning, or collimation on Explore Scientific–branded products—even beyond the warranty period.
An RMA is still required for this service. Simply provide round-trip shipping or arrange drop-off and pick-up, and our technicians will perform the service at no charge.

Explore Scientific stands behind the quality of its products. Warranty terms vary depending on brand and product type.
This warranty applies only to products purchased new from an Authorized Explore Scientific Dealer.

1-Year Limited Warranty
(Explore One, National Geographic, Tonka, ExploreHut, Hasbro)
Explore Scientific warrants eligible products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original retail purchase.
If a defect is confirmed during the warranty period, Explore Scientific will, at its option, repair or replace the product or defective component.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper handling, unauthorized repair, or normal wear and tear.
2-Year Limited Warranty
(Explore Scientific Electronic Components)
Explore Scientific warrants that electronic components will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for two (2) years from the date of original retail purchase.
During this period, Explore Scientific will repair or replace defective products or components, at its discretion, once inspected and approved for warranty service.
Electronic performance issues caused by improper power sources, environmental damage, or unauthorized modification are not covered.
For products containing both electronic and non-electronic components:
- Electronics → Covered under the 2-Year Limited Warranty
- Remaining components → Covered under the applicable non-electronic warranty
Limited Lifetime Warranty
(All Other Explore Scientific Products)
Explore Scientific warrants that all other Explore Scientific–branded products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the useful life of the product, for the original owner.
“Useful life” refers to the period during which the product is reasonably expected to function under normal use and proper maintenance.
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, Explore Scientific will repair or replace the product or affected component at its discretion.
This warranty does not cover cosmetic wear, normal aging of materials, or damage resulting from misuse, abuse, or unauthorized service.
For products containing both electronic and non-electronic components:
- Electronics → Covered under the 2-Year Limited Warranty
- Remaining components → Covered under the applicable non-electronic warranty
What This Warranty Covers
- Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
- Defects occurring under normal, intended use
- Products purchased new from authorized sellers
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
- Accidental damage, misuse, or abuse
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications
- Normal wear and tear (including cosmetic blemishes)
- Loss or theft
- Products purchased used or from unauthorized sellers
- Commercial or rental use unless explicitly approved in writing by Explore Scientific
- Minor cosmetic imperfections
- Coating wear due to environmental exposure
- Routine optical maintenance
Who Is Eligible
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.
Third-Party Products
Warranty coverage for third-party products is provided by the original manufacturer.
Geographic Coverage
This Limited Warranty applies to products purchased from Authorized Dealer in the United States.
International customers should contact the authorized distributor in their country of purchase for warranty assistance.
Products purchased through non-authorized sellers, including but not limited to marketplace resellers, are not eligible for the USA Limited Warranty.
How to Request Warranty Service
To request warranty service:
- Contact Explore Scientific Customer Support to obtain an RMA
- Provide valid proof of purchase
- Clearly label the RMA number on the outside of your shipment
- Include a brief description of the issue and your contact information
Returns sent without an RMA may be refused.
Limitations of Liability
Explore Scientific’s responsibility under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the product. We are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to This Warranty
Explore Scientific reserves the right to update or modify this warranty at any time. Changes will not apply retroactively to products purchased prior to the change.
State Law Rights
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
